The BC Based Business Certificate is a qualification for service companies who have operations centres based in British Columbia and support the local BC economy. The certificate allows qualified BC companies to be easily identified by hiring companies (oil and gas producers) that have local hire programs. Having a healthy BC service sector will ensure greater support for BC energy projects from local communities and local governments.

BC service companies qualify for the BC Based Business certificate on the ESBC website. Through an online audit review process, certified companies prove they have an operations center in BC and they are contributing to the BC economy. Once a company has passed the qualification process, they are given a certificate and the company name is added to the BC Based Business directory on the ESBC website.

Certification registration is free for ESBC members and $250.00 for non-members.

There is no cost for hiring companies to access the BC Based Business directory.

The BC Based Business Certificate Porgram is supported by provincial and municipal governments leaders in Northeastern BC and by oil and gas producers operating in the province.
