The BC Based Business Certificate allows qualified BC based service companies to be easily identified by hiring companies (oil and gas producers) that operate in BC. A healthy BC service sector ensures greater support for BC energy projects from local communities and local governments.

During this time, oil and gas producers have become more committed to hiring competitive BC based contractors as they see the benefits of having a strong local contractor base. Unfortunately, it is not always easy for producers based in Calgary to know which companies are legitimately local BC businesses - companies that operating in BC and supporting the local economy,” says Dave Turchanski, Energy Services BC’s President. “This program will ensure it is easy for producers to identify local BC service companies . We have received a lot of support from oil and gas producers who are operating in BC and are happy to have a directory of contractors that they know are local.”
